FAQ
Is the M50 Enterprise Programme a training programme?
No, whilst some limited skills based training is provided the focus of the programme is to provide practical supports. We compel participants to leave their comfort zone and to follow a disciplined structured approach designed for success whilst providing the necessary advice and guidance on what, where, why and how.
Do I have to commit full-time to the programme?
Yes, all participants are expected to commit full-time. That means you commit full-time to the development of your business. It includes attending any training days or other events that may be held but does not involve you being physically present in a college 5 days a week. If you are in employment you will have to cease prior to commencement on the programme.
Where is the programme based?
The training days and business clinics are typically held in the Synergy Centre on the Institute of Technology Tallaght campus. However, the use of facilities in IT Blanchardstown, UCD, and DCU does occur for periodic reviews.
How many places are available?
There are approximately 10 places available on each intake to the M50 Enterprise Programme. These places are subject to strict assessment guidelines. The programme reserves the right not to fill all places. Recruitment for the programme typically happens twice a year and interested entrepreneurs should contact the programme manager or watch the website for relevant dates.
What sort of business sector should I be in?
The programme will be reasonably flexible so long as the projects are knowledge based and innovative, have the potential for export and job creation and can demonstrate that some primary market research has been undertaken which evidences a clear customer need.
How much does it cost to attend the programme?
There is no charge for attending the programme, nor is any stake in the participant's company taken. The programme is fully funded under the National Development Plan.
What do the Programme Management/ Partners do?
The Programme Management Group (PMG) is responsible for planning and controlling the programme. It comprises representatives of IT Tallaght, IT Blanchardstown, UCD, DCU, and Enterprise Ireland. The Programme Manager acts as the liaison between programme participants and the PMG. He/she is also responsible for the operation and implementation of the programme on a day-to-day basis.

There are over 120 entrepreneurs who have completed the M50 Enterprise Programme. Their businesses range across a wide variety of sectors. It may be possible to meet with or speak to some of the participants prior to commencing the programme if required.

Yes. Typically between 50% and 60% of participants receive CORD funding. The decisions on who receives or does not receive CORD funding are made by Enterprise Ireland and not by the M50 Enterprise Programme Management.
Do I have to be a graduate of the partner institutions?
