Jos Evertsen

Jos Evertsen is the Enterprise Executive in the Synergy Centre and Programme Manager for the M50 Enterprise Programme. He guides and supports new business start-ups with the assistance of the other members of the delivery team. His senior management experience covers, managing and funding collaborative research & development and innovation, both in Ireland and Europe. He is a founder member of two European sectoral networks for training, education and technology transfer. His involvement in managing a vision and development strategy for several enterprise sectors has given him an insight in the strategic positioning of enterprise development. Most recently, he has worked in the development of national innovation policy both for manufacturing and services enterprises.

Delivery Team

The managers of the M50 Enterprise Programme are supported by a part-time delivery team. This team exhibit a complimentary skill set providing invaluable access to a broad range of knowledge and experience for participating entrepreneurs.

Brian O'Kane: Strategy Development

Brian O'Kane

Brian O'Kane is founder and managing director of Oak Tree Press, which is Ireland's leading business book publisher. He is author or co-author of over a dozen books, including key Irish business planning texts. He lectures widely on business planning and strategy. Trained as a chartered accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Brian has edited Accountancy and Certified Accountant, the professional member magazines of two of the world's largest accountancy bodies. He holds a BComm from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. He is a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland, the Institute of Business Advisers, the British Association of Communicators in Business and MENSA. Brian specialises in the identification and development of the most appropriate strategies for businesses at start-up and later to ensure continued and sustained growth. Brian is expert in current best practice in strategy, planning and operations.

Gerry Delaney: Finance & Funding

Gerry Delaney

Gerry started Delaney Financial Consultancy in 2000 to provide financial and operational advice and support to entrepreneurs through incubation programmes and to established businesses. Gerry trained with a leading international firm of chartered accountants before joining Ernst & Young and was subsequently Smurfit Finance & Leasing's Finance Director for 10 years. In 1991, he co-founded and became Director and Company Secretary of the Smurfit Job Creation and Enterprise Fund, a joint venture with Enterprise Ireland. Gerry is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a graduate in Economics & Accounting from Queens University Belfast. He has lectured in Finance and Management Accounting and was a member of the Smurfit Financial Council for two years. He is an active committee member in The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Gerry has sat on both sides of the Venture Capital table and looks at businesses from an investor's perspective. He helps entrepreneurs to develop robust business plans for operations, to make their plans investment ready and to prepare them for talking to prospective investors.

Gerry Moan: Sales and Marketing

Gerry Moan

Gerry Moan is Managing Partner of Constructive Intervention, a leading business development company working in partnership with the SFA, Enterprise Boards and several other national organisations, as well as a host of SME and corporate clients. In the early nineties, he setup his own SME training company, conducting feasibility studies, business planning, cross-border and other funding applications. He has delivered programmes to over a thousand businesses in the fields of marketing and strategic planning, team based change, and leadership. Gerry holds an Advanced Certificate in Business Counselling from the University of Durham, and is closely associated with the Durham Business School Foundation for Small and Medium Enterprise Development. He has served on the boards of several companies, is a past member of the IBA (Irish Business Advisors) National Executive, and a former Regional Chairman of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. In 2001, he launched "Who's Driving the Bus?" as a vehicle for delivering meaningful and measurable training to the Irish market. An accomplished and inspirational sales coach and public speaker, Gerry brings his expertise to early stage companies focussing on building and maintaining relationships with prospective customers and help them devise and validate effective sales and marketing strategies. He will work on developing effective selling techniques and honing knowledge and skills to support their core competencies.
